  3. Critical Rules/Considerations No One-on-One Two-deep registered leadership for online meetings Merit Badges Two registered adults (one female for girls) Or registered MB counselor and parent/guardian for each scout Content/Access Control (Zoombombing!) If you don t plan it, it won t happen!

  4. NCAC Online Guidelines Check the terms and conditions for the online service to make sure that the service allows for users under the age of 13. Online meetings require the presence of adults to be in compliance with BSA Policy. Be sure to review the Guide to Safe Scouting for adult Supervision requirements https://www.scouting.org/health-and-safety/gss/gss01/ Youth should earn or renew their Cyber chip prior to participating or it can be a requirement during the first meeting. Instruct Scouts to use public communication methods or to include a parent/guardian for all communication with adults. If you don t plan it, it won t happen!

  5. NCAC Example Zoom Settings Recommended Meeting Options Meeting Password Require meeting password so the meeting is secure. Audio Use of computer audio is best, so you have a clear record of who is speaking and listening as they are required to login. Meeting Options Disable join before host DISABLE so early callers cannot access before required adult supervision is present Mute participants upon entry to keep the noise down, unmute speakers as it is their turn to talk per the agenda Enable waiting room To keep early arrivals in a queue. You can then add everyone when the adult supervision requirement is met If you don t plan it, it won t happen!

Online Merit Badges Scouts can sign up for NCAC offerings NCAC Merit Badges at Home MB counselors can offer to help using the same link Units can use group instruction of merit badges within their unit without seeking approval from the council or district Units and counselors need to get district approval to offer MB s outside your unit Orgs not affiliated to BSA need NCAC approval If you don t plan it, it won t happen!

  9. Scoutbook Mar 24 Update New Feature Scoutbook now allows a Merit Badge Counselor to search for and quickly connect to a Scout. Go to My Dashboard -> Administration -> My Account -> My Connections. Click the ADD button. Enter the Scout s BSA Member ID number and last name then click SEARCH. Select the Merit Badge(s) will be counseling the Scout for then click CONNECT.
