TEXT: Romans 12: 1 - 21 MEMORY VERSE: 1I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.2And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God . Romans 12:1-2

  3. INTRODUCTION A Christian is someone who has repented of his sins and accepted Jesus as his personal Lord and savior.

  4. If you are a Christian, then you must: Accept the call of God to serve. *Service to God is not Sunday affair.* It is daily service that requires working to expand God s Kingdom anywhere you find yourself. There is work to do for God in your school, church, and the community where you live. Be obedient to the call and serve God well because great rewards are with you

  5. INTRODUCTION CONTD. The study is divided into three parts: 1. PATTERN OF CHRISTIAN SERVICE 2. PRINCIPLES OF CHRISTIAN SERVICE: 3. PROMISES FOR CHRISTIAN SERVANTS:

PATTERN OF CHRISTIAN SERVICE: Romans 12:1,2 Christians are called to serve in the following ways: (i) Service to God: Rom. 12: 1, 2 You must willingly offer your body to God as a living sacrifice. This means you should use every part of your body to please God. Your life must be separate from the things of this world So that you will bring honor and glory to God. (ii) Service to the Church: Rom. 12: 3 16. This is a call to serve in the church and to serve one another. God has given us gifts according to our abilities He expects us to use these gifts for the benefits of members of the church APOSTLE PAUL

You can use your gifts in different areas of work like: To serve God, you must be truly saved, holy, prayerful humble and filled with God s power PRAYER WARRIOR MINISTRY USHERING TEACHING SINGING AND PLAYING MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS COUNSELLING CLEANING OF THE CHURCH & GIVING TO THE NEEDY AND HELPING OTHERS

  8. (iii) Service to the world: The most important service Christians are called to do is evangelism. It is the purposeful and prayerful effort of sharing the gospel with sinners in order to win them to Jesus. You can do this by sharing tracks and Christian magazines, witnessing to unsaved boys and girls and praying for them to be saved. Are you saved? Then you must answer the call to serve God.

  9. 2. PRINCIPLES OF CHRISTIAN SERVICE: Romans 12:1,2; Luke 1: 74; 2 Timothy 2:19,20 There are conditions we must meet before we can serve God Acceptably: (i). Be a true friend of Jesus: You must repent, and turn away from your ways and make Jesus your friend. (ii). Be holy in your heart and character. (iii). Serve with humility and love. (iv). Be filled with the power of the Holy Spirit. (v). Be prayerful and filled with the knowledge of God s word. As you serve God, be assured that He will bless you.

  10. 3. PROMISES FOR CHRISTIAN SERVANTS: Exodus 23:25; John 12:26 There are many promises for servants who serve God in an acceptable way. They will enjoy good health, success, promotion, protection, provision, preservation and honour. At the end, they will live and reign with Jesus in His Kingdom. Pray now and consecrate yourself to the service of Jesus our Master.
