Various initiatives and efforts are being undertaken in the Pacific region to promote sustainable tuna fishing and enhance food security. Activities include workshops to improve tuna stock assessments, modelling the effects of climate change on tuna populations, and efforts to increase value and create more employment in countries like Vanuatu. Funding support from organizations like GEF and the World Bank is aiding these sustainability projects. Lessons from countries like Iceland are also being considered to enhance practices in the region.
