  2. Kansai Gaidai ( Asian Studies Program ): Because TCNJ has a direct exchange with Kansai Gaidai, TCNJ tuition covers tuition at Kansai Gaidai. Starting in the 2007-2008 academic year, TCNJ began hosting exchange students from Kansai Gaidai. In 2008-2009 we expect to welcome two students for the full academic year. Institution: Kansai-Gaidai is a private institution that offers both undergraduate and graduate degrees as well as an Asian Studies program specifically designed for international students. Kansai-Gaidai currently enrolls around 13,500 students and has international partnerships with 236 institutions in 40 different countries. Students in this program take Japanese courses in the morning and Social Sciences, Humanities, Business/Economics, and Studio Art courses in the afternoon. Four courses, including Spoken Japanese, are the minimum required semester load (14 semester credits) for recognition as a full-time student. Housing: Homestay, dormitory, or off-campus housing.

  3. Sophia University Institution: Sophia is an extremely reputable private institution in central Tokyo. If you are interested in doing graduate work in anything connected to Asian Studies, you should seriously consider this program.
