Expedition Rafting in Australia 1. Why do people go rafting? 2. What does the sport involve? 3. What are the dangers involved? 4. Would you like to try it?
First Gap The answer to the first gap is B. Find all the ways paragraph B connects to the the text around it. Grammar connections - reference words, pronouns, linkers etc. Vocabulary connections

Strategy: 1. Read title and subtitle - get an idea of the topic 2. Briefly read the whole text - 1 minute 3. While you read, above and below each gap underline: a. Reference words: this, that, these, those, it, such, etc. b. Linkers & linking phrases: however, so, as a result, etc. c. Other clues: comparatives - less, more than, etc. 4. Repeat step 3 for the paragraphs 5. Think about what the reference word is referring to: 6. Focus closely on the text above and below the gap, try to find the paragraph that fits best: a. Do the reference words match? (this, it, these, etc.) b. If two paragraphs seem to fit, write both letters (B, C) and eliminate one later.
