BeauSandVer Trust 24 years old, caters for over 800 students across the three schools. Offers an unrivalled choice of subject combinations in the local area. Free transport and common monitoring systems to ensure quality assurance and equally high attainment.
Academic success at Sandringham Consistently high performance top 5% schools Attainment 2019 (new style qualifications) A* - 10% A* A - 37% A* B - 67% Average points score per entry 40 (Grade B)
Subject choices and courses Huge choice thanks to the BSV Trust. A-levels in all faculties: including Media Studies, Dance, PE and Product Design. Vocational courses in business and sport. 25% of all university applicants now have at least 1 x vocational qualification (eg BTEC). Single BTEC/Level 3 course is equivalent to 1 x A Level.
Choosing appropriate courses The prospectus outlines different pathways. Each student is unique and will be provided with guidance to help them select the best options based on their predicted and actual GCSE grades, their future career aspirations and any other needs. Entry criteria are set for each individual course and have been developed over time looking at the likely success of students with different levels of GCSE performance.
2020 A Level courses All A Level courses are now linear. All exams will be taken at the end of Year 13. It is usual for a student to take 3 x A Levels. You may wish to study 4 x A Levels if you have an APS greater than 6+. However, no university courses require more than 3 x A Levels.
Extra Level 3 courses Extra optional qualifications in Financial Studies, Mathematical Studies and EPQ. Financial Studies and Maths Studies offer UCAS points. The EPQ at grade A or B can help to lower a university offer.
Entry requirements Please see the entry criteria printed in the courses booklet. A-levels in physics, chemistry and biology require an APS of 6+. A-level maths requires a grade 7 in GCSE maths. Average Points Score (APS) can be worked out from GCSE grades see back of the application form.
Enrichment Subject enrichment is encouraged and supported by all faculties. For example; recommended online courses, lectures and university links. Extra-curricular enrichment is very strong; Duke of Edinburgh, Young Enterprise, sports and performing arts.
Sixth Form trips and visits Expeditions; Costa Rica 2015, Borneo 2017, China 2019, Vietnam/Cambodia 2021. International visits to our partner school in the Gambia. Subject trips include; STEM trip to CERN, Computer Science to California, Geography to Iceland, Dance to NYC and MFL exchanges. Multiple day trips, UK fieldtrips and annual skiing trip.
Developing key skills and leadership Sixth Form leadership team: Head Boy and Girl and Deputies, Senior Executive Committee and Senior Prefects. Whole school Student Leadership Team. Peer mentors and GCSE tutors. Lower school lesson support and Year 7 reading support. Year 7 and 12 buddy system. Primary school volunteering. Work experience placements and volunteering.
Progression to your future Outstanding system of career guidance and support for application to University of apprenticeship. Medical society other student groups Last year, 155 progressed to university. 25 students are taking a GAP Year. 1 is doing an Art Foundation. 9 students gained places on competitive higher level apprenticeships/started employment. Every year we have success with Oxbridge and medicine applications (3 Oxbridge and 1 medicine entries in 2019) Full programme of support through LLL, enrichment days and tutor time.

General information Dress code: Business dress. Bring your own device scheme. Tutor time at the start of each day and Personal Development. Supervised study sessions. Formal school day; 8.30am-3.00pm. Specialised 6thform block; Starbucks caf and different study areas.
