Opportunities and participation: The Missing Links To Riches! 5. What Should We do at this Stage?

  2. GH2: A DISRUPTIVE TECHNOLOGICAL INNOVATION? GH2: A DISRUPTIVE TECHNOLOGICAL INNOVATION? 1. A disruptive technology brings new ideas, new products, new processes, new positions, new methods, the whole new paradigm, sometimes a revolution in terms of creation, management, delivery and maintenance of products and services. 2. A DT very often overrides and suffocates the existing ones. 3. A DT may create a complete new industry. 4. For Namibia, GH2 technology creates a completely new industry with its whole range of value chain satellite support industries.

  3. What are GH2 by-products? 1. Hydrogen by-products are products where hydrogen element/s are combined with other elements. In this case the opportunities are only limited by imaginations and demands. Examples are among others: ammonia, methanol, kerosene, fuel jet or detergents. 2. What specific product- or service-line opportunities to choose for the start depends on what business operations are identified in the current approved 3 hydrogen valleys in Namibia as pilot projects. 3. For a detailed specifications of business and career opportunities across the GH2 production, management, maintenance, supply and services value chain/s, for local or domestic audiences, depends on the collaboration between the investors on one hand and the Namibian government, private sectors and individual interests. 4. From the point of view of Namibia these consultations should culminate in a draft of a GH2 Strategy that would serve as basis for final discussions before agreement/s between the government and the investors. Strategy defines stakeholders responsibilities and duties.

  4. What are the possible by-product usages in domestic and foreign markets? 1. For opportunities across the GH2 production, management, maintenance, supply and services value chain/s, for local or domestic audiences, depends on the collaboration between the investors on one hand and the Namibian government, private sectors and individual interests on the other. 2. The investors commercial interests must be prudently balanced with the national community s meaningful participation in the project. In this way the potential economic growth by the GH2 will definitely be inclusive. This will enlarge the national revenue cake. a detailed specifications of business and career

  5. Opportunities and participation: The Missing Links To Riches! 1. Across all the GH2 products and services value chains in Namibia, the preferred investors, have already identified pilot project types, with specified and preferred products and services for domestic and foreign usages. 2. Interested business and professional organizations and institutional representatives should engage those current approved bidders with the view to identify specific projects where they can fully participate as business owners or as professional experts. This engagement process will avoid the miss-match of trained and required skilled personnel. 3. At the national level, businesses and relevant professional organizations and institutes should engage government for the formulation of short and long term policy measures to support and guide the growth of the industry. 4. Existing umbrella GH2 interest groups should form a national group to negotiate industry interests with the government and investors/financiers.

  6. What Should We do at this Stage? 1. From this consultative conference, a Namibia national GH2 program document be formulated and approved (by relevant stakeholders), based on the current hydrogen valley pilot projects and activities as approved by government. Program projects must have time lines. 2. Based on the project activities, all HR requirements for all activities be identified and their levels of expertise be defined, according to the time lines. 3. All relevant Namibian training institutions accredited to NQA to develop differentiated NQA-approved training programs asap, targeting HR requirements. Training programs should include re-skilling.
