Currently involved in change initiatives to enhance outcomes for children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) by implementing the Valuing SEND approach. This approach aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of children's needs, support their development, and facilitate collaboration among professionals, families, and settings. Valuing SEND tool aids in assessing and addressing needs effectively, ensuring that children receive the necessary support to thrive academically and personally. The tool, presented in an Excel format, offers insights into areas where additional support is required, encouraging proactive planning and intervention throughout the child's educational journey.

Valuing SENDtool is a simple tool which helps professionals and families to reflect on the child s needs, and the ability to meet these within the school and home. It provides a series ofprompts and questions to understand CYPs needs across each of the five domains. Once the tool is completed (it s an Excel document), it provides a clear diagram to demonstrate where needs are being met and where additional support could be provided.
