This orientation program aims to equip participants with the knowledge and skills to understand and effectively implement Maternal and Perinatal Death Surveillance and Response (MPDSR) in hospitals. Participants will learn the rationale and process of MPDSR, complete review forms accurately, identify causes of maternal and perinatal deaths, formulate action plans, and report findings in a web-based system. The program includes sessions on key terminologies, determinants of maternal death, MPDSR processes, and monitoring and evaluation. Through interactive sessions, participants will enhance their ability to respond to maternal and perinatal deaths appropriately.

  2. Goal of this orientation After the training, the participants will understand The rationale and process of MPDSR and Be able to functionalize the MPDSR process effectively in the hospitals.

Objectives of this orientation After the training, the participants will be able to: Describe the background, rationale and process of hospital based MPDSR, Complete the Maternal Death Review (MDR) and Perinatal Death Review (PDR) forms correctly, Review the MDR and PDR forms, identify the cause and avoidable factors of the maternal and perinatal deaths and Formulate, implement and monitor action plan for appropriate response and Report maternal and perinatal deaths in web-based system
