  3. 2016 Agreement Background Cl. 85 Translation to Four Stream Grading Structure 85.1(a) - the translation of Employees with an existing classification named in the Agreement, from their existing Grade, sub-grade or increment to a revised grading structure, without loss of salary or pay. Streams: Clinical, Advanced Practice and Research Nurse Managers Community Nursing Quality, Clinical Risk, Governance, Education and Development

  5. Fundamentals of the change Adjusted bed capacity to location based structure 11 to 6 DON levels Old structure: Started with >13 beds all the way to 701+ beds New Structure: Places all roles into one of following categories; 8A, 8B, 8C, 8D, 7A or 7B.

  6. Process Overview Which stream does the Employee belong in? Identify the pool of Employees that require translation? Complete translation paper exercise following steps provided, seek assistance when unsure Write to employee with outcome along with process for review Industry Disputes Panel (include point that no Employee with be disadvantaged). Transfer from FFPPOA 1 October 2021 (back dated to FFPPOA 1 December 2020).

  7. Which Stream? The Clinical, Advanced Practice and Research stream (CAPR) which comprises those classifications principally engaged in clinical work, advanced practice, extended practice, clinical consultancy, drug and alcohol (inpatient) and research. The Quality, Clinical Risk, Governance, Education and Development stream (QRED) which comprises those classifications principally engaged in clinical support, clinical development, education, risk management and governance. The Community Stream (CN) which comprises those classifications principally engaged in district Nursing, Community alcohol and other drugs, domiciliary, ambulatory, outpatients, community health, HITH, PAC, HARP, in-reach, etc (to be read in conjunction with NM and CAPR streams); The Nurse/Midwife Manager (NM) stream which comprises those classifications principally engaged in management of a nursing or midwifery service, or part thereof, in any stream.

  8. Identify the pool that requires translation? The Nurse/Midwife Manager (NM) stream which comprises those classifications principally engaged in management of a nursing or midwifery service, or part thereof, in any stream. Only NM5 and above should be left.

  9. Step One Campus based structure starts with the Director of Nursing classification Determine whether a DON is required to be appointed to the site

Campus Definition Clause 4.1(k) CAMPUS Insertion of following definition Campus means a site operated by an Employer that provides day procedure surgery or multi-day inpatient services or residential aged care but excludes: a. a site that is a Community Health Centre; b. a site where the only service is Aged Care beds that do not meet the definition of High Care beds under the Safe Patient Care Act 2019; c. DHSV, d. Private residences. Provided that a satellite service co-located on a Campus controlled by another Employer is not a separate Campus for the purposes of this Agreement

  11. Step Two Determine the DON classification from one of following categories 8A, 8B, 8C, 8D, 7A or 7B. Identify the classification of the campus in Appendix 8 of the successor Agreement Where a DON is required but not listed in Appendix 8 apply the definitions

  15. Step Three Determine DDON classifications in accordance with the following: The Employer is not required a DDON or DDOM. A Deputy DON/M is a Registered Nurse/Midwife who is appointed as a Campus Deputy Director of Nursing to assist the Director of Nursing in the day to day administration of the campus. A Deputy DON/M will be graded at NM6. The sub grade within Level 6, A, B, C, or D is determined by reference to the health service campus categorisation in Appendix 9 Part A.

Step Four Determine Divisional/Clinical Director classifications in accordance with the following: Is a Registered Nurse/Midwife who has responsibility for a clinical division of the health service. Translation versus preservation decision (Agreement by DH to fund cost of preservation). An Employee who has responsibility for a clinical division of the health service. The subgrade within Level 6, A, B, C or D is determined by reference to the health service campus categorisation in Appendix 9 Part A. Where Divisional/Clinical Director is across campuses, they will be aligned with the highest.

  21. 2020-2024 Agreement NM5 Classifications Nurse Manager 5 - After Hours Coordinator Is a Registered Nurse who is appointed to have responsibility for a campus in the off duty periods of the campus Director of Nursing in accordance with Appendix XX Is a Registered Nurse appointed to the role of Assistant Director of Nursing who assists and relieves the DON and/or Deputy DON. The Employee will translate to NM5A, 5B, 5C or 5D in accordance with the salary equivalent as below: Nurse Manager 5 - ADON Is a Registered Nurse who has responsibility for a project or process in more than one campus or across all units/wards in a single Health Service will be classified as Assistant Director of Nursing (NM5B) Nurse Manager 5 - ADON Level 1 Is a Registered Nurse who has responsibility for a project or process affecting more than one ward or unit within a campus will be classified as Assistant Director of Nursing (NM5C) Nurse Manager 5 - ADON Level 2 Nurse Manager 5 - Nurse/Midwife Manager not elsewhere classified Is a Registered Nurse or Midwife principally engaged in management of a nursing or midwifery service, or part thereof, for which this Agreement contains no more applicable classification. The classification for this role will be at NM5C.

  22. 2020-2024 Agreement - Non Campus Aligned Is a Registered Nurse or Midwife who has responsibility for a project or process affecting more than one ward or unit within a campus will be classified as Assistant Director of Nursing (NM5C). Exception fixed roles Is a Registered Nurse who has responsibility for a project or process in more than one campus or across all units/wards in a single Health Service will be classified as Assistant Director of Nursing (NM5B).

Step Six Determine Executive DON classification in accordance with the following: An Employer is not required to appoint a Nurse Manager 9 and may rely on the appointment of a Nurse Manager 9 to satisfy the requirement to appoint a Campus DON. An Executive DON is a Registered Nurse/Midwife who is appointed in addition to the campus Director of Nursing to be an Executive Director of Nursing (however titled). An Executive DON will be graded at NM9.
