  3. Integration vs Hitching: What is the difference? Hitching Using an arts activity in conjunction with an academic subject, without conscious effort to teach arts skills or understanding Integration Connects elements, skills and concepts of arts disciplines into core subjects, with the goal of increasing knowledge, understanding and appreciation of both the core subject and the arts.

  4. Successful Integration To integrate both subjects must be taught with a balance of rigor. Rigor: The goal of helping students develop the capacity to understand content that is : Complex Ambiguous Provocative Personally and Emotionally Challenging (Strong, Silver, Perini, 2001)

  11. 2014 Theatre-On-Wheels Jenny Wiley Theatre is pleased to offer the 2014 Theatre-On-Wheels production of THE ADVENTURES OF MOLLY WHUPPIE September 3 - 19 New Tour Dates Added: August 18 - 22 and August 25 - 29 The Adventures of Molly Whuppie is a delightful, funny, musical production combining traditional Appalachian folktales with contemporary sensibility. Molly Whuppie, who is clever, brave and strong encounters witches, giants, an ogre (who refuses to do housework), unwanted boyfriends, and all manner of conundrums, manages to outwit them all with a potent combination of nerve, trickery, and just plain luck. Also appearing in the story are Molly's sisters Polly and Betts, the famous Appalachian hero, Jack (Molly saves him a few times) and three cornbread baking mice. Jenny Wiley Theatre s Theatre-On-Wheels program brings a full production, including sets, costumes and music to your school. Give your students the opportunity to experience live professional theatre without the inconvenience and cost of travel. If time permits, a question and answer session after the performance is included.
