Early Years Foundation Stage to Year 1 Transition Reception is a balance of child led and adult led Year 1 is mainly teacher led but during out transition period we are using a mixture of teaching styles Children have come from a play based curriculum to the National Curriculum our aim is to make it as play based as possible- whilst still meeting the end of year criteria We plan by reflecting on the last 2 years that the children have experienced Focussing not only on academics but social, emotional and personal areas of learning (forest school) Encouraging the children to become independent learners knowing how to develop their learning Dojos & Squirrel Star
