The Declaration of Independence There are four (4) parts/sections to the Declaration of Independence 1. THE PREAMBLE OR INTRODUCTION: This explains why the declaration was written. Dissolves the political bonds between the United States and England.
DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE 2. Declaration of Natural Rights: 3 parts. A. We hold these truths to be self-evident that all men are create equal B. Unalienable rights: Cannot be taken away 1. LIFE 2. LIBERTY 3. THE PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS C. The right to abolish their government and create another if these rights are violated WHAT DO THESE RIGHTS MEAN TO YOU?
DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE 3. Grievances -Against the King which states -The British government had in fact violated the rights of the colonies -Lists the grievances or complaints against King George III of England 4. Dissolving the Bonds - Simply stated - Declaring independence from England
The Declaration of Independence JULY 2, 1776- Congress resolves to accept DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE JULY 4, 1776-The delegates officially APPROVE THE DECLARATION President of the congress John Hancock signs the document.
The Declaration of Independence AUGUST 2, 1776: A majority of the delegates sign the Declaration Signed by 38 of the delegates including Benjamin Franklin John Adams, Samuel Adams Thomas Jefferson.
