Day 1 Your task today is to write a diary about your experiences as the pilot. My hearth quickened as I stepped out of the shack and saw the magnificent sight of my jet. It was sleek, polished and beautiful beyond words. The engineers, who had been working relentlessly for the past six months, were making final preparations ready for my test flight. Although I was excited, my legs felt like jelly. This may be the last flight I ever take I thought to myself. Slowly, I approached the plane and smiled to the mechanic nearby. He told me the plane was ready to go. I clasped my fingers around the gleaming metal of the ladder that led to the cockpit. Each step I took upwards felt like a lifetime worth of hard work. The cushioned leather of the pilot s seat hugged me as if to say, don t worry you re safe with me. The plane was my soulmate, my friend. What is good about this diary? Why? Can you take any think from it that you would like top use? Once you have done this, continue your version of the diary entry by writing the next paragraph, try to include writing tools such as fronted adverbials, adverbs and subordinating conjunctions.

Before you write, think of your sentence in your head and try to upgrade it. Then begin writing the better version of your sentence. Pause and think as you go along. Your description of the plane should include what it sounds like, looks like, smells like and how it moves. The windows of the large jet gleamed in the light of the sun. Hurtling through the sky, the cockpit s controls responded to every movement of the pilot as he sensitively nudged the controls. The engine of the mighty jet were enough to deafen you.
