Social Saudi customs and tradition of social events It is regarded highly impolite to decline someone invites to a meal (you will have ton of these every week) It is impolite to leave the food table (mostly we eat on the ground) before the guest leaves it first. Children are being raised not to leave food on the plate The amount of food eaten Pushing children to only focus on their study and omit or prohibit physical activity
Activity The activity of the people is not high during the day, specially out door. The GYM membership fee is very expensive. The number of GYM is low. The public areas of activity is always next to a highway The most popular sport is football, the price of renting a field is high. Over protective family. Night curfew
When need someone to blame? Who Something can t defend itself -> Weather Climate in Saudi Arabia is Desert climate. Temperatures reaches up to 50 C in summer. It s difficult for people to stay outdoors during the day because of the high temperature , so they prefer night life. Economics Opening restaurant is very profitable. Low profit in healthy restaurant. Every street has many restaurant. In cities with few restaurants, there are less obesity. Availability of the food 24h. Every family has at least one car. Young people tend to work night shift.
Public Low awareness of obesity in school. The price of the oil is less than the price of water (nowadays is a myth). Public view of Sport jobs not as real jobs. The number of public parks is going down.
Food Eating only lunch and dinner, no breakfast. Eating during the night. Every week at least once the family eats at restaurants. Low water intake. Sweats consumption is high. Many people sleeps after meal The type of the food consume Very low intake of salad and fruits Tea and Soft drinks.
