Similarities Similarities Middle Middle School and School and K K- -8 Athletics 8 Athletics in CMS in CMS The sports offered in middle school are the same as the sports offered in K-8 schools. All 7th grade and 8th grade students are eligible. Tryouts are a part of the process for making a school team.

Differences Differences Middle Middle School and School and K K- -8 Athletics 8 Athletics in CMS in CMS Middle schools are provisioned with different facilities than K-8 campuses as it relates to Athletics. Football Field/Goals Posts and Track Baseball and Softball fields Enrollment in the middle school grades is lower in K-8 schools than traditional middle schools in CMS.

CMS K CMS K- -8 Athletics Structure 8 Athletics Structure K K- -8 Facilities 8 Facilities Impact Impact K-8 athletic teams are impacted by athletic facilities on a K-8 campus as well as K-8 enrollment. K-8 schools have a gymnasium and soccer field. K-8 schools do not have a football field/track or a softball/baseball field.

The following sports are paired Pairings are decided based on location and bell schedules, when possible. paired with a traditional middle school. SAIL Athletic SAIL Athletic Teams Teams Softball Baseball Golf Tryouts, practices, and games will occur at Alexander Graham Middle School. CMS transports student athletes daily to the middle school. Parent/guardians will pick up their student athlete from Alexander Graham Middle School after practice.

SAIL combines with other K-8 schools to form one football team and one track team: No football field/track K-8 enrollment numbers result in combining three/four K-8 schools to form four (4) K-8 football football and (4) K-8 track track teams that practice and play games at four sites with a football field and track. Practices and games are played at: Spaugh JT Williams Marie G. Davis K-8 North CMS transports daily to the football or track site and parent/guardian will pick-up their child from the game/practice.
