The High School Band Registering for band o Honors Credit o Part of the daily schedule o Band Experience Opportunity Band Experience o Even more Honors Credit o 10 hours of community service o Not that much more of a commitment: participation in both high schools events. o Band Directors can automatically enroll students in Band Experience

  5. Expectations Be responsible for your instrument and music! Practice your instrument! Complete any written assignments! Keep track of all rehearsals and band events! Show up on time to all band events! Take part in fundraising opportunities to help build your band account!

Major Band Events Tuesday Night rehearsals @ QHS 5:30-7:30 Thursday, July 30: CYO Nationals August 31-September 3: Marching Band Camp Friday, September 11-November 13: Football Games Wednesday, November 11: Veteran s Day Parade Thursday, November 26: Thanksgiving Day Game Sunday, November 29: Christmas Day Parade December: Holiday Concerts Early April: Spring Concerts Memorial Day Parade, Flag Day Parade Graduation

Marching Camp Monday, August 31: Select Student Leaders o 8:30-12:30 @ Pageant Field Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday, September 1-3: All Band Members Attend o 8:30-12:30 @ Pageant Field Tuesday, September 8: Full Band Rehearsal 5:30-8:00 Thursday, September 10: Full Band Rehearsal 5:30- 8:00 Friday, September 11: First Game!! 6:00-9:00

  9. Marching Camp Supplies Three-ring Binder (1 thick) with several clear plastic sheets 3 x6 notepad for drill Dress for warm weather, bring raingear in case of rain! Suntan lotion Sneakers!! (no flip flops or sandals) Hat or headwear to protect from the sun Water bottle/jug Instrument Music Any reeds, valve oil or other instrumental supplies

  10. Marching Band Camp Expectations Please be on time to camp each day! Remember your supplies! Practice your music over the summer! Memorize Amarillo & The Star-Spangled Banner!
