APPROACH TO LEADERSHIP Collaborative ministry is not rocket science at least so I thought. It ought to come naturally for the Christian disciple. IDENTIFICATION & DEVELOPMENT OF LEADERS BIBLICAL EXAMPLES OF IDENTIFYING AND DEVELOPING LEADERS Old Testament: Father-To-Son (Abraham/Isaac)| Leader-To- Apprentice (Moses/Joshua) (Elijah/Elisha) (Saul/David) New Testament: Jesus (Jesus does not call just one but He called a community of individuals | Paul (Back to One: Paul/Timothy) IDENTIFYING AND DEVELOPING LEADERS CENTRAL TO THE LIFE AND MINISTRY OF JESUS AND THE STORY OF THE CHRISTIAN CHURCH Those who walked alongside Jesus are described as disciples Leadership is nurtured and developed via discipleship
COMMUNAL MODEL OF LEADERSHIP JESUS (St. John 17) Those who walked with Jesus were given to Him by God Those who walked with Jesus are God s Leaders shares all to his/her mentees. TRINITY Not based upon a Hierarchical or Subordinate Principle Based on the foundation of love that exists between the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, who yield to each other. No Person is greater than the other Persons; they are equal in all aspects because they are of the same substance SPIRIT BAPTISM (Joel 2:28-29) It will come about after this that I will pour out my Spirit on all mankind; And your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions. Even on the male and female servants I will pour out my Spirit in those days. It is God pouring the Spirit It is God s Spirit It is made possible for all. It will bear fruit. C.A.R.E. Contact And Relate to Everyone MUTUAL CARING & SHARING Ministries are not to be exclusively inward looking, but are to also focus outward to the community, to believers, pre-believers, churched, and un-churched to everyone. God intends for us to be connected with other believers. Ministries should be a place for persons to serve and grow in their relationship with the Lord and with other people

The Blessing of Serving: GROW IN YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH CHRIST When you serve in ministry, you are surrounded with other believers that can encourage and strengthen your walk with Christ. You are hearing and seeing the Gospel lived out! As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God s varied grace. 1 Peter 4:10
The Blessing of Serving: DISCOVER YOUR PURPOSE AND FEEL FULFILLED When you serve and give of your time and energy for something and someone else, you get emotionally and spiritually recharged. It gives more meaning to your life as a servant of Christ. The Lord will fulfill his purpose for me; your stedfast love, O Lord, endures forever. Do not forsake the work of your hands. Psalm 138:8
The Blessing of Serving: USE YOUR SKILLS AND TALENTS FOR THE KINGDOM Each of us have incredible skills, talents, and abilities! We are called to use those skills and gifts for the Kingdom and the opportunity has been created for them to be used. NOW IS THE TIME
The Blessing of Serving: OUT OF OBEDIENCE TO JESUS Jesus commands us to serve others. When we serve in the local church through ministry, we are actually being obedient to what Jesus called us to do! Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. 1 John 4:11
FOLLOW JESUS EXAMPLE God sent His son to be the ultimate servant. He spent time with people, serving them, healing them, loving them. When you serve, you are following the very example Jesus set for us. Having this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, by taking on the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. Philippians 2:5-7
JOIN THE MISSION OF THE CHURCH Be a part of something big .the MISSION OF THE CHURCH! Serve and give toward a mission that is being accomplished
FIND COMMUNITY IN RELATIONSHIPS WITH OTHERS We all long to be cared about, served, and loved. Let build meaningful relationships and develop friendships that will last. LOVE ON PEOPLE AND GIVE BACK TO OTHERS
