Great job so far! :) You should have started studying and preparing for regional competitions on Thursday, January 31st!! Pick up your regionals permission slip with Ms. Miller in 6-101, it s due by tomorrow!
Mentor Meetings Mentor meetings are meetings with your medical teacher to update them on the progress of your competition preparation. You must have at least two to compete. The first mentor meeting should have been done by: Friday, December 14th The second mentor meeting should be done by: Thursday, January 17th (TOMORROW) For each mentor meeting, fill out a HOSA Mentor Reference Form found on the school website HOSA tab, have your mentor sign it, and turn it in to them. You will not be able to compete without your mentor meetings!!
Regionals Thursday, January 31st (2 weeks, so keep preparing!!!) Head to the bus circle as soon as you get to school, we are aiming to depart by 7:30am Bring a lunch OR money for food trucks We should be back around 5:00pm
Competition Proper Dress Check your guidelines for specific attire!! Some competitions may allow scrubs or another sort of uniform at regionals, depending on the competition.
States 2019 March 28th-31st The turnaround time for states is very quick!!! If (when) you place at regionals you will have to confirm your spot at states by February 5th!! Cost for states in Orlando: $225
Donations Encourage family, friends, and businesses to donate tax free to our HOSA webstore!! Just go to Online Payments on the school website and donations can be paid to HOSA to help reduce competition costs as much as possible You also may accept sponsors yourself, so someone could help pay for your way to states or nationals and write it off in their taxes
For everyone competing. Take a picture! This is important information that everyone competing should know and include in their project if specified in the guidelines (thoroughly read them!!): Lower (9 & 10)- Chapter #15384 Upper (11 & 12)- Chapter #15385 Division: Secondary
Competition Materials If your competition requires you to upload materials to STEM PREMIER, you MUST set up your account and upload all materials by or before January 26th or you will be disqualified!!
Competition Materials Carefully read over ALL of your guidelines!! If your competition requires a binder or portfolio or folder of any sort, it MUST be official HOSA. If you need one, see Mrs. Webb ASAP in case you need to order one to get here in time for the competition. You could be put at a severe disadvantage for not having the proper materials!!
