The sacrament has a social nature Around the table of Christ, there is no rich or poor; we are in union with all for whom He died (Pope Benedict XVI, Deus Caritas Est no. 14) He draws us into His act of sacrifice Love of God and love of neighbor are thus joined God comes to us as food to continue his work in us and through us USCCB CST and Evangelization Worship 5 5
