Department of Biochemistry: Generic Elective Department of Biochemistry: Generic Elective S R C A S W Name of the Paper: Biomolecules Content: The objective of this paper is to provide students with an understanding of biomolecules: Amino Acids, Proteins, Carbohydrates, Lipids, Nucleic Acids. Focusing on their key properties, biological roles and functions. The course also aims to outline organic and physical aspects of biomolecules along with the hands on experience given to students for analysis of these biomolecule during practical classes. Preparation of various types of solution (Molar, Normal, Percentage , Buffers). Separation of biomolecules by Paper and Thin layer chromatography Students who can opt: The paper is advantageous to students opting for BSc. (Hons) Biomedical Sciences, BSc. (Hons.)
