  4. Shobna Gulati Shobna Gulati (born 1966) is a British actress, writer, and dancer. Gulati is a soap star best known for playing Anita in Victoria Wood's Dinnerladies and Sunita Alahan in the long-running soap opera Coronation Street from 2001 to 2006, a role to which she returned at the end of 2009 and departed again in 2013. From 13 March 2013 to 30 May 2014, Gulati appeared as a panellist on the lunchtime chatshow Loose Women. Gulati is also one of very few actors to have appeared in both Coronation Street and its rival series EastEnders (in 2000). Gulati married the architect Anshu Srivastava in a Hindu ceremony on 10 November 1990. Gulati has talked in the past about how some young Hindu women can feel trapped between two cultures: "It can be very difficult if you are born here but your parents were not and there can be a lot of cultural issues," she said. "It is a situation facing many young Hindu women who are unable to express themselves properly within their families. Gulati has a working knowledge of six languages and is a vocal supporter of Asian women's rights and various anti-racism campaigns. She works on female body image issues. She is also a supporter and a season ticket holder of Manchester United.

  5. Jonny Wilkinson Jonny Wilkinson, is a former rugby union player who represented England and the British and Irish Lions. Wilkinson rose to acclaim from 2001 to 2003 before and during the 2003 Rugby World Cup and was acknowledged as one of the world's best rugby union players. He was an integral member of the 2003 Rugby World Cup-winning England squad, scoring the winning drop goal in the last minute of extra time against Australia in the 2003 Rugby World Cup Final. He then came back from several injuries to lead England to the final of the 2007 World Cup. The England rugby star has revealed that he has found inner peace through Buddhism, saying the religion had helped him overcome a fear of failure which was ruining his life. His perfectionism in life had been making him miserable but Buddhism had liberated him from being motivated by money, status, or ego . 'The Middle Way followed by Buddhists about having the right intentions and keeping control of yourself. I have improved as a person in my relationships, not just my wife, but with friends and family, he said.

  6. Mohamed Muktar Jama "Mo" Farah Mohamed Muktar Jama "Mo" Farah CBE (born 23 March 1983) is a British distance runner. He was a gold medallist in the 5000 m and 10,000 m at the 2012 Summer Olympics and the 2015 World Championships in Athletics. He was the second man in history to win long-distance doubles at successive Olympics and World Championships. Born in Somalia, Farah emigrated to the United Kingdom as a child. Farah is a devout Muslim and is an active supporter of the Muslim Writers Awards. Islam is an important part of his preparation: "I normally pray before a race, I read dua [Islamic prayers], think about how hard I've worked and just go for it." He notes that "the Qur'an says that you must work hard in whatever you do, so I work hard in training and that's got a lot to do with being successful. It doesn't just come overnight, you've got to train for it and believe in yourself; that's the most important thing." Mo Farah was named among the 500 most influential Muslims in the world in 2013. He is the most decorated person in British athletics history, with seven global titles, and was the first British athlete to win two gold medals at the same world championships. His five gold medals at the European Athletics Championships make him the most successful individual athlete in championships history. He was European Athlete of the Year in both 2011 and 2012, and has been the British Athletics Writers Association British Athlete of the Year five times (more than any other). Farah was appointed Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in 2013.

  7. Monty Panesar Mudhsuden Singh Panesar, known as Monty Panesar (born 25 April 1982) is an English international cricketer who currently plays for Essex. A left-arm spinner, Panesar made his Test debut in 2006 against India in Nagpur and one-day debut for England in 2007. In English county cricket he currently plays for Essex, and has previously played for Northamptonshire until 2009 and Sussex from 2010-2013, He has also played for the Lions in South Africa. Born in Luton to Indian parents, Panesar is a Sikh, and so he wears a black patka (a smaller version of the full Sikh turban) while playing and training. Many of his fans have copied him by wearing patkas and fake beards while watching him play. Panesar has been quoted as saying, "I follow Sikhism, and maybe I ve channelled the discipline that religion creates into my cricket. There s discipline with any religion, and you can take it into a game or into anything else" Panesar has uncut hair and a full length beard, which is a fundamental part of the Sikh identity and way of life. He won the 2006 Beard of the Year competition run by the Beard Liberation Front.

The books have gained worldwide attention, won multiple awards, and sold more than 400 million copies.They have become the best-selling book series in history and been the basis for a series of films which is the second highest-grossing film series in history. Over the years, some religious people, particularly Christians, have complained about Rowling's books for supposedly promoting witchcraft. However, Rowling identifies as a Christian, and attended Church of Scotland services while writing Harry Potter. Her eldest daughter, Jessica, was baptised there. She once said, "I believe in God, not magic." Early on she felt that if readers knew of her Christian beliefs they would be able to predict her plot line, but is now more open about it. In an interview with Tatler magazine, Rowling noted that, "My faith is important to me." She has said that she has struggled with doubt, that she believes in an afterlife, and that her faith plays a part in her books.
