Synod Assembly Schedule and Prayer Offerings

The Synod Assembly, scheduled for Tuesday, April 19th, 2022, will see representatives from different parishes come together for prayer, discussions, and group activities. The event will feature various sessions such as spiritual conversations, group presentations, and a closing Mass. Participants will engage in prayers for guidance and unity under the theme of Adsumus Sancte Spiritus. Additionally, an online pre-synodal event took place in July 2022 with significant responses. The assembly aims to foster communion, participation, and mission among the participants.

  16. Step 1 Pray Together (3 minutes) At the beginning of this reflection, you are invited to pray. Pray together the prayer for the Synod (Adsumus Sancte Spiritus). Read the Responses Pray Together Reflect Respond and Pray Submit your Response 16

  17. Step 2 Read the Responses (do individually) Make sure you are sitting comfortably. Breathe slowly and deeply. Ask God to speak to you through the survey responses that you are about to read. Read and reflect on the survey responses in silence. The first reading is an opportunity to get to know the survey responses . What word or phrase captures your attention and grabs your heart?   18. Step 3 Reflect (do individually) Slowly and prayerfully, read the survey responses for the second time. The second reading focuses further on the points you became aware of during the first reading. Reflect carefully on where God has nudged you. What feelings are arising within you? Sit in silence and then frame a single sentence that expresses what this word or phrase says to you. Possibly read the survey responses for the third time. Sit quietly in God s presence, asking, What are you saying to me? Rest in God s love, and listen. Read the Responses Pray Together Reflect Respond and Pray Submit your Response 18

  19. Step 4 Respond and Pray (do individually) It might be helpful to jot down what arose during this time. Make a note of all the responses that come to mind. What did you speak to God, and what did God offer you? As you end your reflection, you are invited to close with an Our Father, Hail Mary and Glory Be or to say a prayer of gratitude in your own words. Do this silently on your own.   20. Step 5 Submit your Response Your voice is important as it conveys the main fruits of the discernment of the whole People of God across the world. It is recommended that your response be captured in a short summary of no more than 6 points. Your summary should fit into the two fundamental questions (3 each) of the synod: How is this journeying together happening today in your local Church?
