  1. Oxford House Chapter Chair

  2. Duties 1. Preside over the Chapter Meetings Ensure the chapter meets once a month Use parliamentary procedure to conduct the meetings Prepare an agenda in advance Ensure the democratic process is followed Act as a representative (as needed) with local, state or national agencies, landlords, and media unless otherwise designated

  3. Duties Work Closely with all other Chapter Officers Audit Chapter account with Treasurer each month Keep Co-Chair advised of all business and activities Act as mediator along with Housing Services Chair and/or Co-Chair in any house dispute, if called upon. Periodically visit houses along with Housing Services Chair. Attend every State Association meeting as a representative of the Chapter.

  4. Duties Give a Report at each Chapter Meeting of all his/her Chapter activities. Gives a report about what happened at the State association meeting. Submit an accurate accounting of any approved expenses.

  5. Chapter Meeting Tips Show up to Chapter Meetings early Come to Chapter Meetings Prepared Completed agenda for attendees Completed Chairperson Report Stick to the agenda Limit cross-talking and off-topic discussions Prevent excessive discussion on one subject

  6. Other Tips Live by example. Walk the talk. Serve without governing. Read the manuals. Never go alone. Reach out for help. Remain positive and up-beat. Have fun!
