What will we do?
 
Monday
 Leave school around 9:45am by coach.
Meet our tutors and groups (3 groups, mixed gender and ability etc)
Settle into accommodation, Make beds etc
Tutors take us through emergency procedures.
Packed Lunch from home.
Activity 1: canoeing or zip wire/climbing
Evening meal 5.30 pm
Evening activity
Evening drink and snack
Bed!
 
What will we do?
 
Tuesday
Breakfast
Tidy rooms and pack
Activity 2
Lunch
Departure: 2pm
Return to school: 2:45 - 3pm
 
Activities: canoeing or zip wire/climbing
 
Kit list
 
 
All the activities will be outside so students will need plenty of warm clothes. Clothes will get dirty and wet! No one needs new clothes
buying!
2 T shirts or long sleeved tops.
2 thick jumpers or fleeces
2 pairs old tracksuit bottoms or similar (not jeans for comfort and safety reasons)
3 pairs of shoes, 1 pair for indoors, 1 pair for outdoors and 1 pair for water activities that may get wet if you are doing canoeing.
Night clothes
Underwear
Toiletries, Tooth brush and toothpaste, soap, shampoo etc
Towel
Plastic bags for wet clothes
Hat and gloves for cold weather or shorts, sun cream, a hat
a plastic drinks bottle
Socks, at least 3 pairs
Casual clothes for evening wear
If you have the following bring them with you, otherwise they will be provided: Walking boots,  Wellington Boots, Waterproof jacket,
Waterproof over trousers, Small rucksack
 
Packing
 
The kit list will be sent out along with medical forms
etc.
Packed lunch for Day 1 – no fizzy drinks please.
Maximum of £2.50 spending money. There is a small
tuck shop and small gifts for 50p upwards.
Please limit sweets and treats. 
Children will be able
to buy sweets or chocolate from the shop so please
don’t send suitcases laden with sugar!
Bedding is provided at Hothersall.
 
Where will we sleep?
 
Rooms will be within one lodge block and
room allocations are shared on arrival.
We will aim to give each child at least one
of their choices of friend in their room
Rooms are single gender and staff sleep
in a room on the corridor.
Children are made aware of staff
bedrooms on arrival.
 
Tech
 
This is a tech free time !
 
No mobile phones, watches etc. Aside from having a rest
from technology it also presents a damage and loss risk.
 
School will keep you updated of our safe arrival and our
return to school
 
Personal Care and Medical Needs
 
If your child has any medical needs please complete the medical
form.
 Medication will be issued as prescribed each day but must be
brought into school before the visit. It must be clearly labelled.
We will carry a small supply of Calpol, Ibuprofen, Piriton to
administer if required.
Teddy Bears are welcome to come along!
 
 
Behaviour
 
We expect the very best behaviour before and during
the trip. If any pupil does not show they can behave well
they will be asked not to come on this trip.
If a child is unable to maintain an acceptable level of
behaviour whilst on the trip and causes a risk to others
we will ask them to leave the trip. Parents will need to
travel to Hothersall and collect their child in this
instance.
 
Emergencies
 
In the event of an emergency during the residential trip we will always
contact you. Please ensure your contact details are up to date with the
school office.
 
Emergency contact from home should be made through the school
office. Please do not contact Hothersall directly.
 
Please complete the following forms today:
   Medical/calpol permission/ photographs and social media
   permission/trip permission.
