  10. Giants by Lydia Pender Read the poem and think What is the enormous creature and the tremendous monster ? What is the main message of the poem? A. People can learn a lot from holding small creatures. B. People should think about how their actions affect others. C. People are much bigger than frogs and snails. D. People should overcome their fear of nature.

  11. Giants by Lydia Pender The enormous creature and the tremendous monster is a human! The poem teaches us to think about how our actions affect others. Picking up and playing with small creatures like snails and frogs might seem innocent to us, but it may actually be petrifying for them! It teaches us to treat all life with care, consideration and respect.

  12. Giants by Lydia Pender Your task is to write your own verse to act as the third verse! Choose a small insect (e.g. a worm) that might also experience mistreatment. Base your verse off of the first two; magpie the structure and any ideas. For example, end yours with three rhetorical questions, where the last two include repetition. We look forward to hearing your verses!
