WHAT HE SAYS?
Many people say things they don't really mean, but when it comes to God, His words are clear and have consequences. Through examples from Adam and Eve to Saul, it is evident that God's commands are to be taken seriously as He means what He says.

DOES GOD MEAN WHAT HE SAYS?
INTRODUCTION Many people say things they don t really mean: Out of anger or frustration Out of fear Out of thoughtless talking
EXAMPLES: GOD MEANS WHAT HE SAYS Adam and Eve If you eat of that tree you will die (Gen 3:2) And the woman said to the serpent, "We may eat the fruit of the trees of the garden; (Gen 3:3) but of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God has said, 'You shall not eat it, nor shall you touch it, lest you die.' "
EXAMPLES: GOD MEANS WHAT HE SAYS Adam and Eve If you eat of that tree you will die Noah build an ark or die with the world (Gen 6:13) And God said to Noah, "The end of all flesh has come before Me, for the earth is filled with violence through them; and behold, I will destroy them with the earth. (Gen 6:14) Make yourself an ark of gopherwood; make rooms in the ark, and cover it inside and outside with pitch.
EXAMPLES: GOD MEANS WHAT HE SAYS Adam and Eve If you eat of that tree you will die Noah build an ark or die with the world Nadab and Ahihu do not touch the Ark of Covenant (Lev 10:1) Then Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, each took his censer and put fire in it, put incense on it, and offered profane fire before the LORD, which He had not commanded them. (Lev 10:2) So fire went out from the LORD and devoured them, and they died before the LORD.
EXAMPLES: GOD MEANS WHAT HE SAYS Adam and Eve If you eat of that tree you will die Noah build an ark or die with the world Nadab and Ahihu do not touch the Ark of Covenant Saul utterly destroy the Amelikites (1Sa 15:2) Thus says the LORD of hosts: 'I will punish Amalek for what he did to Israel, how he ambushed him on the way when he came up from Egypt. (1Sa 15:3) Now go and attack Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and do not spare them. But kill both man and woman, infant and nursing child, ox and sheep, camel and donkey.' "
GOD STILL MEANS WHAT HE SAYS Word of God is our ONLY guide (Hebrews 4:12) For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
GOD STILL MEANS WHAT HE SAYS Word of God is our ONLY guide (Romans 10:17) So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
GOD STILL MEANS WHAT HE SAYS About our salvation we must obey (Mat 7:21) "Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.
GOD STILL MEANS WHAT HE SAYS About our salvation we must obey (Act 16:30) And he brought them out and said, "Sirs, what must I do to be saved?" (Act 16:31) So they said, "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household."
GOD STILL MEANS WHAT HE SAYS About our salvation we must obey (Jas 1:25) But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.
GOD STILL MEANS WHAT HE SAYS About our salvation we must obey (Rev 22:14) Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city.
GOD STILL MEANS WHAT HE SAYS About our salvation we must obey (Luke 6:47) Whoever comes to Me, and hears My sayings and does them, I will show you whom he is like: (48) He is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid the foundation on the rock. And when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently against that house, and could not shake it, for it was founded on the rock.
GOD MEANS WHAT HE SAYS TODAY God is still God. God still means what He says.
GOD MEANS WHAT HE SAYS TODAY Have we learned from those in the Bible? OR: Will we repeat their error and refuse to do what He says?
