  2. There are several ways to talk about the future 1. will + verb When you make promises I will always love you! When you make a momentary decision I will help you! When you make a guess or a prediction You will have four children!

  3. 2. To be +going to + verb When you make plans or arrangements, or you see something obvious is going to happen I am going to stay home tomorrow. (plan) He is going to cook spaghetti. (obvious action) They are going to travel to New York. (arrangement)

  4. NEGATION The negative word NOT always follows the helping verb in any situation: I will not stay home any more. They are not going to come here. We are not travelling together tomorrow.

  5. How to recognize which form to use? will is usually used in sentences that have phrases like I hope , I think , maybe Ex: I think I will have the beef roast. going to is used in phrases that show a plan Lucy is packing her bags. She is going to travel tomorrow.

In the future the rain forest ___________ (completely/disappear). 11. Peter is very pale. He ______________ (faint). 12. I ______________ (meet) my friends tonight. 13. The teacher is really angry with Tom. He ___________ (call) his parents. 14. Watch out! You ______________ (fall) over. 15. What are your plans for next summer? I ______________ (visit) my grandparents.
