Update on the Education Response Plan for Refugees and Host Communities (ERP)
ERP 1. Financial Tracking exercise 1. Conducted by Maintains and the ERP Secretariat. Supported by FCDO. 2. Completed the funding tracking for years 0 -2 (Jan 2018 June 2020) 3. Distinction ERP specific vs ERP relevant spending, including Government spending, EDPs spending and EiESWG partners spending. Double-counting avoided. Dashboard available online.
ERP at District Level 1. 3 Refugee Hosting Districts have approved the District ERP (Lamwo,Yumbe, Kamwenge) by District Councils; 2. 3 RHDs Isingiro, Koboko, Obongi have drafts submitted for approval 3. 5 RHDs with draft plans pending feedback and input by District ERP task Team (Adjumani Kiryandongo, Kyegegwa, Kikuube and Terego). 4. 1 RHDs with draft plans pending completion (Madi Okollo).
ERP 2 Update. Contents 1. Fully alignment with ESSP 2020/21-2024/25 (Section Education for Refugees). 2. Consideration of COVID-19. Catch-up modalities? 3. To decide the geographical coverage. Refugee hosting sub-counties (like in ERP 1) vs entire refugee hosting districts. 4. Inclusion of Early Childhood Education.
ERP 2 Update. Process 1. Initial timing already affected (1st zero draft was expected in November 2020). 2. Reference Group constituted. 3. Task Team not yet established Urgent decisions required: 1. Need from the MoES to designate a Co-lead for the Task Team. 2. Involvement of EDPs (dedicated staff / additional resources for a consultant).
