What is work Any kind of activity that has a purpose, is paid, legal and moral In order to be under the labor law work must be dependent
To get a job in Greece you need Work permit (automatically for asylum seekers or refugees) AFM AMKA AMA (Your first employer can assist you to get it)
WORK AND EMPLOYMENT CONTRACTS FULL TIME PART TIME OCCASIONAL CONTRACTS OPEN-ENDED EMPLOYMENT CONTRACT FIXED TERM EMPLOYMENT CONTRACT
Working hours 40 hours per week 5 or 6 days per week 8 hours of work per day for a full time work 5 hours or less for part time More hours are considered over time Work on Sundays, night or overtime is paid more
Public Holidays New Year's Day (1 January) Epiphany (6 January) First Day of Lent Independence Day (25 March) Good Friday Easter Monday Labour Day (1 May) White Monday The Assumption of the Virgin Mary (15 August) National Holiday (28 October) Christmas Day (25 December) Boxing Day (26 December)
Vacations If you work for a year and your work is 5 days a week you are entitled to 20 days of vacation. If you work for a year 6 days per week you are entitled to 24 days.
Basic Salary Gross Salary for a person over 25, without specialization is 586 euro (492 euro net +94 euro IKA/tax) Gross Salary for a person under 25 is 511 euro ( 429 euro net + 82 euro IKA/tax)
Pay per day for a person over 25, without specialization is 26,18 euro (gross salary) for a person under 25 is 22,83 euro (gross salary)
