Qingming Festival/Tomb sweeping Day What : The Qingming Festival : for celebrants to pay respect and remember and honor their ancestors at grave sites to 1) pray before the ancestors, 2) sweep the tombs 3) and offer food, tea, wine, chopsticks, 4) light joss paper accessories, and/or pull wine in front of the tomb of the ancestors. 5)Some people carry willow branches with them on Qingming Festival, or put willow branches on their gates and/or front doors. They believe that willow branches help ward off the evil spirit that wanders on Qingming.
