  4. We are a creation of the WI Supreme Court We are NOT the Board of Bar Examiners (BBE) we do not set Admission or CLE requirements We are NOT the Office of Lawyer Regulation (OLR) We do not discipline lawyers

As an entity formed by Wisconsin Supreme Court rule, SCR 10.05 outlines the general charge of the affairs and activities of the Board: What does the Supreme Must meet at least 4 times each year Court Must establish and maintain sections for carrying on the work of the association, each within its proper field of study defined in its bylaws Require? Must have our 4 divisions

  9. Ensures financial stability of the State Bar of Wisconsin Establishes policies and procedures for the State Bar of Wisconsin What Does BOG Do?

Governance Committee Serves in an advisory capacity on matters of governance of the State Bar Policy Committee Provides leadership and guidance to the board on public policy matters relating to the overall mission of the State Bar and the administration of justice Strategic Planning Committee Oversees the strategic direction set by the board Creates goals to succeed in the future, identifies and apportions limited resources to accomplish those goals, and measures the organization s success as it moves toward the envisioned future BOG Committees

Executive Committee Oversees management of the association and the Board Acts on behalf of the Board between meetings except in certain circumstances Submits budget to the Board Finance Committee Develops and recommends budget to the Executive Committee for approval and oversees finances of the State Bar Audit Committee Assist the Board in monitoring the integrity of the financial statements and oversee the performance of independent auditors of the State Bar Main Committees
