ANSWER THE FOLLOWING. Q1. What is force? Ans. A push or a pull acting on an object is called force. Q2. Can we see force? Ans. No, we cannot see force but we can feel it and see its effects on objects and people.
Q3. How does a potter mould the clay? Ans. The potter moulds clay on a rotating wheel. He uses force to change the shape of the object, the shape changes and finally becomes a pot. Q4. Give three examples of actions performed by using force? Ans. We use force to perform actions like- a. Kicking a football b. Sharpening a pencil c. Paddling a cycle
1. Force can stop a moving body or changes its direction. 2. Force can change the shape of an object. 3. We cannot see force, but we can feel it. 4. The potter is moulding the clay on a rotating wheel. 5. We apply different amount of force to perform actions.
Q1. Name four types of forces. Ans. Muscular Force, Frictional Force, Gravitational Force and Mechanical Force. Q2. Which type of force stops us from falling off the Earth? Ans. The Gravitational Force stops us from falling off the Earth.
Q3. Why it is difficult for us to lift a heavy bag of groceries? Ans. Because our muscular force is not enough to raise a heavy bag. Q4. What would happen if there was no gravity? Ans. If there was no gravity, we would float in the air. Q5. How is frictional force caused? Ans. The frictional force is caused when two objects rub against each other.
Muscular force The force applied by using the muscles of different parts of our body like hands and legs is known as muscular force. Mechanical force The force that aids in getting work done using a tool is known as mechanical force.
Frictional Force- The force that slow down or stops a moving body is called frictional force. Gravitational force or Gravity Gravity pulls an object towards the Earth and hold it firmly on the ground.
Mechanical force - Fix the nail into the wall with the help of hammer Gravitational force Falling objects Muscular force Lifting the objects Frictional force Writing
