What Her Heart Remembered Out in the stable yard She sees a glow Could it be angel light? How would she know? Shepherds stand wondering Afraid to come in But the baby that's born tonight Will free them all To never fear again.
As He lies in a cattle trough She kneels by His side Sweet baby breathing Soft infant sighs Soft sounds of swallowing As soft fingers part Marvelous memories She pondered them and hid them in her heart.
Like a good Mother would She learned His cries If He'd awake With a bellyache From hunger or fright But now and then Sometimes when The dark would descend He would weep A dark so deep For all her love She couldn't comprehend.
Her warm loving carpenter His strong gentle hands His dark and bewildered eyes Can they understand? That this Baby she's given him Is theirs for a time In truth came to give Himself The Treasure and the Ransom of mankind.

Christmas A day of Joy and Good Fellowship Christians remember it s all about Jesus A love test show how much God loved us??? This passage explains the real reason! Matters of cosmic significance!
1. Redemption & Adoption Heart of the passage 4:4-5 Redemption & adoption Paul is protecting the very heart of the Gospel The victory God by-passed our inability to be holy Found a way to make us holy by faith
1. Redemption & Adoption The very heart of the Christian life Redemption & life in the Spirit. (4:6-7) God sent his son: To redeem those under the Law That we receive adoption as sons
1. Redemption & Adoption God sent his Spirit That we know him as Abba (Daddy) We are not slaves but sons and Heirs A cosmic switcheroo Jesus became what we are (under Law v 4) We could become what he is (Sons v 7)
1. Redemption & Adoption Proved by their experience of the Spirit (3:2) Everything redemption & adoption by faith They were promised unconditionally
2. Law vs Promise Their experience of the Spirit: Came by faith, not the Law. (3:2) Because of hearing with faith not works of the Law (v 5) Not seek perfection through the flesh (Law) after beginning with the Spirit . (v 3-4)
2. Law vs Promise The story of Abraham: Abraham s true descendants share his faith not his Hab 2:4) genes (v 5, 8, 9, Faith brings blessing; law brings curse. (v 9, 10) Jesus took the curse; we get the blessing. (v 13-14) Abraham s faith long before Law (Gen 15:6) On the basis of his faith, God made a promise
2. Law vs Promise The Jews misunderstood, thought: Promise was appropriated by observing the Law Descendants of Abraham were genetic (ethnic) Paul says NO Promise was unconditional because of his faith (Gen 12:2-3) Descendants were those who shared his faith (Gal 3:7-8)
2. Law vs Promise Why was the Law Given? First: The Law imprisoned ( v22), held captive (v 23) Law revealed sin, all were sinners (Rom 3:9-20) Second The Law acted as Guardian until Christ (v 23) In Christ we are justified by faith (v 24)
3. Guardianship vs Sonship Where Christians go wrong: Affirm sonship, but live under the Law (guardian) Experience Christian ,life as a burden Do not lay hold of life in the Spirit Right now we can live in intimacy with God call him Daddy Law as guardian protected society from sin
Living It We either live as Child under a guardian Son with full rights. Christmas keep in mind God s cosmic work We move from (4:4-5) Law to Promise Guardianship to Sonship
Living It All who share Abraham s faith are children of Promise. (Rom 8:16-17)
