  1. We have been studying the subject of heaven Previously we have addressed what heaven will be like. Last week, we addressed who will be in heaven: God, angles and infants, as well as many Godly examples worthy of imitation. But we also addressed us how can we get to heaven namely, by obeying the gospel and remaining faithful.

  2. Who will NOT be in heaven?

  3. The fate of the lost Not all believe in hell. A 2015 Pew Research survey noted that 72% of Americans believe in heaven, while only 58% believe in hell a views of hell also vary as to what it is (with many believing it is simply separation from God)

The fate of the lost The Bible teaches hell is a real place as real as heaven Matthew 25:46, 10:28, 2 Thessalonians 1:6-9 tribulation, vengeance, punishment and everlasting destruction 2 Peter 2:20-22 the latter end is worse than the beginning Sadly, hell is the destination of those not in heaven!

  12. What about those today? Those who do not obey the gospel? John 3:3, 5 unless one is born again, he CANNOT enter the kingdom of heaven 2 Thessalonians 1:8, God s vengeance against the one who does not obey the gospel

  13. What about those today? Those who put off obedience Understand, good intentions are not enough. The gospel is often presented with a sense of urgency 2 Corinthians 5:10-11, Acts 2:27-41 Acts 22:16 Felix Acts 24:25 he put obedience off

  14. What about those today? Those who fail to remain faithful Scripture is clear that becoming a Christian is only the beginning. We put to death that old man of sin! We MUST remain faithful Revelation 2:10, 1 Corinthians 9:27, Galatians 5:4, 2 Peter 2:20- 22 To fall away comes with consequences

  15. What about those today? Those who refuse to repent While repentance must precede obeying the gospel, it must also continue as Christians Whenever we sin, as Christians, we need to take care of our sins 1 John 1:9. When we stumble and fall, we need to get up, repent and keep going Are there sins we REFUSE to let go of?

  16. What about those today? Many who THINK they are saved Matthew 7:21-23, It is possible to think you are saved but you are not! Many today have followed the teachings of man and been deceived into thinking they are ok. But that is dangerous (e.g. poison)

  17. What about those today? Many who THINK they are saved Acts 23:1, 26:9 Paul thought he was doing the right thing when he persecuted Christians. He was WRONG!

  18. What about those today? Many who THINK they are saved That is why we must continually study and verify 1 John 4:1, 2 Corinthians 13:5, Acts 17:11 A recurring theme of the NT is warning against false teachers cf. 2 Peter 2:1-3, Galatians 1:6-9, 5:4

  19. Do you want to go to heaven? What are you doing to ensure you go there?
