The Direct Method, also known as the DM, emphasizes teaching the target language without translation. It aims to improve students' communication skills and focus on vocabulary and pronunciation over grammar. Teachers play a direct role in class activities, while students engage in interactive language learning. Key principles include inductive grammar teaching, student-student interaction, and cultural awareness. Evaluation is based on language use rather than knowledge demonstration, with a variety of feedback techniques employed. Techniques such as reading aloud, conversation practice, and dictation are used to enhance language skills. Activities for students include tasks from specific book pages.
