2-Tensile strength of concrete Concrete is not normally designed to resist tension the knowledge of tensile strength to 1- Estimating the load under which cracking will develop. 2- Maintain the continuity of concrete structure 3- Many case in the prevention of corrosion of reinforcement. There are three types of test for strength in tension 1- Direct tension test 2- Flexural tensile strength 3- Splitting tensile strength
: 1- Direct tension test A direct application of pure tension force and from eccentricity is difficult to avoid secondary stress. 2- Flexural strength tests
