In this session, participants will have the opportunity to learn about challenging scenarios in supporting students with disabilities who are in crisis and how to support them with effective communication strategies, collaborating with executive leadership, connecting with cross-campus departments, and creating partnerships. 2. Participants in this session will learn how intersectionality identities play a key role in supporting students with disabilities specifically during crisis situations.

Serve as an advocate for your student and clarify your role. Provide adjustments and accommodations as needed. Communicate with professors. Encourage self-care. Check in with the student as needed. Department Support Schedule time with the appropriate office to educate on student support. Ask to be BCC'd on communication or updated on communication timing. Be accessible. Understand compliance responsibilities. Discuss equity. Include the appropriate personnel.

Discuss how intersectionality identities plays a role in this situation. How can the campus create an inclusive environment that recognizes and respects the intersectional identities of all students involved in this case? What role can meditation or conflict resolution play in resolving this situation? How can both parties be supported in a way that addresses the concerns of the complainant while also considering John's needs and challenges? What long-term measures can the campus implement to prevent similar situations in the future?
