Succession Planning November 2020
Outcomes Our clubs routinely have open leadership positions. We have members that are interested in leadership positions! (Some may not know it yet.) We all have members in our clubs that will be a great fit for a leadership position. We will discuss strategies to help members succeed in leadership positions and how to understand what is expected in the position.
Open Leadership Positions Complete a census of who is already on the board. What is missing? Talent What talent/skills/competencies does each individual board member bring to the table? Skills Competencies Capacity What capacity does each individual board member have available? Resources What resources does each individual have access to?
Club Member Census Are there club members that have voiced an interest in a leadership position? Are there club members that you/your board think would be a candidate for a leadership position? What do they bring to the table? Do they have a history of success? Professionally? Personally? Within the club? Have they successfully served as a committee chair or co-chair?
What is expected? Unwritten expectations Be HONEST every club has them! Club Manual Does your club manual outline expectations and duties for leadership positions?
