Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, Did God really say, You must not eat from any tree in the garden ? The woman said to the serpent, We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden, G e n e s i s 3 : 1 6 ( N I V )
but God did say, You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die. You will not certainly die, the serpent said to the woman. For God knows that when you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil. G e n e s i s 3 : 1 6 ( N I V )
When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it. G e n e s i s 3 : 1 6 ( N I V )
And the Lord God commanded the man, You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it you will certainly die. G e n e s i s 2 : 1 6 - 1 7 ( N I V )
Adam and Eves lives were destroyed because Satan was able to get them to focus on what they wanted instead of recognizing what God had given them!
God did not create evil. God created the possibility for evil when He gave us a free will. A free will means we have the opportunity to choose evil.
This only have I found: God created mankind upright, but they have gone in search of many schemes. E c c l e s i a s t e s 7 : 2 9 ( N I V )
God created man with a free will Satan deceives. It s what he does
Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, Did God really say, You must not eat from any tree in the garden ? G e n e s i s 3 : 1 ( N I V )
You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies. Jo h n 8 : 4 4 ( N I V )
The woman said to the serpent, We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden, but God did say, You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die. G e n e s i s 3 : 2 5 ( N I V )
You will not certainly die, the serpent said to the woman. For God knows that when you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil. G e n e s i s 3 : 2 5 ( N I V )
Satan is subtle He maximizes the restrictions He gets you to focus on what is not allowed He questions God s goodness He minimizes the consequences of sin He relabels the action Makes sin appear desirable He leaves you with the consequences
And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. It is not surprising, then, if his servants also masquerade as servants of righteousness. Their end will be what their actions deserve. 2 C o r i n t h i a n s 1 1 : 1 4 1 5 ( N I V )
Focusing on happiness in the moment can cause you to miss out on happiness for a lifetime, or even eternity
Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth. Jo h n 1 7 : 1 7 ( N I V )
Does what you are being told contradict what God has said?
Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. 1 Jo h n 4 : 1 ( N I V )
Now the Berean Jews were of more noble character than those in Thessalonica, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true. A c t s 1 7 : 1 1 ( N I V )
Satan is very good at convincing people that evil is good and good is evil
But I am afraid that just as Eve was deceived by the serpent s cunning, your minds may somehow be led astray from your sincere and pure devotion to Christ. 2 C o r i n t h i a n s 1 1 : 3 ( N I V )
God created man with a free will Satan deceives. It s what he does We are accoutable to God for our choices
Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they realized they were naked; so they sewed fig leaves together and made coverings for themselves. G e n e s i s 3 : 7 - 1 3 ( N I V )
Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the Lord God as he was walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and they hid from the Lord God among the trees of the garden. But the Lord God called to the man, Where are you? G e n e s i s 3 : 7 - 1 3 ( N I V )
He answered, I heard you in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; so I hid. And he said, Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree that I commanded you not to eat from? G e n e s i s 3 : 7 - 1 3 ( N I V )
The man said, The woman you put here with me she gave me some fruit from the tree, and I ate it. Then the Lord God said to the woman, What is this you have done? The woman said, The serpent deceived me, and I ate. G e n e s i s 3 : 7 - 1 3 ( N I V )
So then, each of us will give an account of ourselves to God. R o m a n s 1 4 : 1 2 ( N I V )
God created man with a free will Satan deceives. It s what he does We are accountable to God for our choices Sin always has consequences
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. R o m a n s 6 : 2 3 ( N I V )
Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. G a l at i a n s 6 : 7 8 ( N I V )
So the Lord God banished him from the Garden of Eden to work the ground from which he had been taken. After he drove the man out, he placed on the east side of the Garden of Eden cherubim and a flaming sword flashing back and forth to guard the way to the tree of life. G e n e s i s 3 : 2 3 2 4 ( N I V )
Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all people, because all sinned R o m a n s 5 : 1 2 ( N I V )
Sin seldom just affects the one who is sinning. Unfortunately, those we care about often get caught up in the consequences of our sin.
God created man with a free will Satan deceives. It s what he does We are accountable to God for our choices Sin always has consequences God has given us a path back to Him
And I will cause hostility between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her offspring. He will strike your head, and you will strike his heel. G e n e s i s 3 : 1 5 ( N LT )
