How to be Safe and Avoid Consequences on your school bus
This applies to ALL students: Home transportation Field trips Sporting events
Safety Keep voices low. Sit with feet on the floor and body facing forwards. Stay seated until the bus stops.
Safety Be silent at railroad crossings. Wait for your bus at least 12 feet from the road.
Safety Wear your face covering the entire bus ride. This is mandate from the federal government and CDC.
Tolerance Use kind words. Honor other people s space and belongings. Keep your knees and bags out of the center aisle.
Accountability Keep your bus clean. Report bullying. Do what the driver tells you to do the first time.
Accountability Be at your bus stop 5 minutes before your pick-up time.
Respect Greet the bus driver every day getting on and off. Keep hands, feet, and objects to yourself.
Possible school consequences for: Physical contact such as slapping, punching, kicking, and inappropriate touching.
Eating or drinking on the bus Vandalism to the seats Disrespect to the bus driver Inappropriate language or gestures.
Bullying/teasing/harassing other passengers. Disobedience to your bus driver s requests to Sit down and/or Be quiet.
Consequences: 1st bus referral = 5 lunch detentions
Consequences: 2nd bus referral = 5 lunch detentions and 3 days of bus suspension.
Consequences: 3rd bus referral = 5 lunch detentions and 5 or more days of bus suspension.
Remember: Riding the school bus is a privilege that can be taken away.
Follow the STAR bus behaviors each day and your driver may give you a STAR buck!
The purpose of good bus behavior and bus rules is to prevent an accident and keep you safe!
Do NOT walk between buses! The bus drivers will honk their horns.
