VOCABULARY REVIEW Estimate: A number that is close to an exact amount. An estimate tells about how much or about how many. Expanded Form: A way to write numbers by showing the value of each digit. Inverse Operations: Operations that undo each other, such as addition and subtraction or multiplication and division. Period: Each group of three digits in a multi-digit number; periods are usually separated by commas or spaces.
VOCABULARY CONT. Round: to replace a number with another number that tells about how many or how much. Standard Form: a way to write number by using the digits 0-9, with each digit having a place value. Thousands: the period after the ones period in the base-ten number system. Word Form: a way to write numbers using words
