What is Portfolio? The Portfolio suite of applications uses Epic, Cerner, and other application tools to help refine and improve system processes that will help us reach our goal of One UMMS. Here are just some of the great things the platform offers: Enhanced clinical decision making Better continuity of care among multi-disciplinary care teams Improved decision making by leaders that are able to study trends in patient outcomes Information sharing with the majority of health systems in and around Maryland Increased information access and use to help reinforce patient-focused healthcare 2
Portfolio Epic Training Portfolio Epic Training is managed by the Portfolio Training Management (PTM) team) Training assignments depend on which departments the trainees will be undertaking their clinical rotations in Training sessions may be a combination of applications Training sessions will be conducted virtually Rebecca Drenning is the Portfolio Training lead for the Residents & Fellows Program RebeccaDrenning@umm.edu 3
Portfolio Epic Training We re Early! Because we re ahead of schedule, we hope to simplify schedules for coordinators and cut down on trainees needing to change their training date. Enrollment Process: PTM will enroll all trainees in training sessions. Application Access Requests: Application Access Requests should be submitted through the service desk portal by the coordinators two weeks before trainee s start date. On the Service Portal request form, select New User-New to Epic in the Access Type field. Epic System access will be granted within 24 hours of training completion, in accordance with the No Training, No Access policy implemented 7/5/22. 4

Scheduling Process June/July/August 2023 Trainees will attend Portfolio Epic Training March 2023 April 2023 April/May 2023 Coordinators will complete the resident enrollment form with all trainees information to have them enrolled in training Coordinators will complete the smart form sent from Clinical Informatics to determine training dates and Portfolio Epic training schedule will be finalized. The training team will host a Q & A Session for Coordinators to discuss any Portfolio Epic training questions. 6
Friendly Reminders All training sessions will be conducted virtually. There will no test out option. Arrive on time for training sessions. Training sessions will begin at 8am and 1pm. Please do your best to adhere the training dates and times that your trainees are scheduled for. 7
