  1. KAVEX VZW: BUILDING PARTNERSHIP AND PROFESSIONAL EXCELLENCE

  2. KAVEX vzw: EMPOWERING REAL ESTATE EXPERTS KAVEX vzw (Chamber of Real Estate Experts) was founded as a non profit association (vzw) on 21 June 2002 and its articles of association were published in the Appendix to the Belgian Official Journal on 17 September 2002.

  3. KAVEX VZW: PROMOTING EXCELLENCE Since December 2008, KAVEX vzw has been officially recognized as a National Professional Association by the Minister for SME s and the Self-Employed; in that capacity it is represented in the High Council for the Self-Employed and SME s KAVEX vzw is a member of FEBEX vzw, which is the Federation of Belgian Judicial Expert Associations (www.febex.be) KAVEX vzw is a founding member of the Belgian Federation of Real Estate Surveyors, founded on 14 October 2022.

  4. KAVEX KEY OBJECTIVES Professional Development (possibly as a REV) Ethics and Professional Standards (incl. TEGOVA Blue Book) Knowledge Sharing, Research and Education Lobbying and Representation (incl. Court attendance) Upcoming: promoting sustainability values

KAVEX SPECIAL KEY OBJECTIVE: EXPERT RECOGNITION AND EXPERT ACCREDITATION This recognition and accreditation serve to highlight the expertise and professionalism of its members within the civil society. It involves establishing criteria, standards, and processes to evaluate and accredit members based on their qualifications, experience, and adherence to best practices (including the European Valuation Standards).

  6. KAVEX SPECIAL KEY OBJECTIVE: GUARDIAN OF GOOD PRACTICES KAVEX also acts as a guardian or advocate of good practices within the real estate business. This could involve inspired by the TEGOVA Blue Book, 9th edition 2020 - establishing guidelines, codes of conduct, or ethical standards that its members are expected to follow. By promoting and enforcing these best practices, KAVEX aims to maintain high professional standards and contribute to the overall integrity of the real estate sector.

  7. KAVEX SPECIAL KEY OBJECTIVE: ETHICS AND CODE OF CONDUCT KAVEX places a strong emphasis on its code of conduct and the importance of respecting ethical standards within the real estate community. This commitment to ethical behavior is not only a part of their mission but also a fundamental pillar of their organization. The code of conduct at KAVEX serves as a guiding framework for all members and employees. It outlines the principles, values, and behaviors expected of anyone associated with the organization. This code not only encompasses legal obligations but goes beyond to promote a culture of integrity, transparency, and professionalism.

MEMBERS OF THE BOARD Diane Mertens: President and Regional Manager for the Province of Limburg Pascal Mallien: Vice-President, legal advisor, chairing the GDPR Commission and member of the Disciplinary Board Dominique Krickovic: 2nd Vice-President, representative for the syndic-experts (appartment managers) and member of the GDPR Commission and Disciplinary Board David Martens: former President and chairing the Acceptation Commission

MEMBERS OF THE BOARD Davina Derwael: responsible for IT and social media Berlinde Hellings: founding member Ibrahim El Idrissi: Regional Manager for the Province of Antwerp Virginie Hanssens: Regional Manager for the Province of Flemish-Brabant Jan Poppe: Regional Manager for the Province of East-Flanders and member of the Acceptation Commission

ASSISTANCE KAVEX is supported by: Secretary: responsible for the administrative work of KAVEX, such as managing correspondence, keeping records and organizing meetings Accounting: responsible for maintaining financial records and preparing KAVEX's financial reports Membership Administration: responsible for managing the membership list, including enrolling new members, updating contact information, and facilitating communication between members

  12. COMMITTEES Institute of Real Estate Expertise: in cooperation with other associations, KAVEX may award Best Thesis Awards once a year when different requests are sent on that behalf The Accreditation Committee reviews the qualifications and experience of members who wish to be considered for accreditation as a recognized expert in the real estate sector. In addition to effective members, such as the board of directors and committees, there are also affiliated members within KAVEX that may qualify for accreditation, following the mentioned KAVEX Special Key Objectives.

  13. DEONTOLOGY The disciplinary Commission works on the basis of complaints and ensures that the real estate expert fulfills his task properly. If not the real estate expert can be suspended or relieved of his affiliation and/or accreditation. The Board of Appeal can act on appeals from one of the parties. It rules independently from the other boards of KAVEX.

  14. OTHER FUNCTIONS OF THE BOARD Organization of events: This function focuses on planning and organizing various events held by KAVEX, such as lunches, themed evenings, conferences and seminars, which likely serve as networking and educational events for its members. These events may feature guest speakers, discussions on relevant topics, and opportunities for members to connect and exchange information. It includes selecting locations, arranging speakers and coordinating logistics, requesting accreditation from the Institute of Real Estate Agents (BIV)

  15. PUBLICATIONS KAVEX is involved in spreading information related to the real estate industry. This may involve sharing news, updates, research findings, and other relevant information through various channels such as their website, newsletters, or KAVEX-Flash publications. By providing members with valuable information, KAVEX helps them to stay informed and up-to-date with the latest developments in the field.

  16. KAVEX SUPPORTS MEMBERS PROFESSIONAL GROWTH In line with its mission, KAVEX places a significant emphasis on education and continuous learning. It recognizes that the real estate landscape is constantly evolving, with new trends, technologies, and regulations emerging regularly. To support its members' professional growth, KAVEX offers a wide range of educational resources, including workshops, training, and access to industry experts. This not only helps members to stay up-to-date with the latest developments but also allows them to enhance their skills and knowledge, ultimately making them more competitive in the market.

  17. KAVEXS MISSION AND COMMITMENT TO THE REAL ESTATE COMMUNITY KAVEX's mission and commitment to the real estate community revolve around creating a supportive and collaborative environment where members can grow professionally. Through community-building and education, they play a vital role in advancing the real estate business and empowering its members to achieve their full potential.

  18. KAVEXS MISSION AND COMMITMENT TO THE REAL ESTATE COMMUNITY KAVEX is eager to be part of the European real estate valuers community by joining and completing the strong presence of the Belgian profession with the existing members BELGAVAL and UGEB-ULEB, which have a different profile.
