Requirements for Graduation 24 Credits: Four English credits Four Mathematics credits One HOPE credit Three Science credits (rigorous credits only) Three Social Science credits (1 World History, 1 US History, American Government, and Economics) One Fine or Performing Art credit One online class 2.0 Unweighted Grade Point Average (GPA) Pass Florida Standards Assessment for English/Writing Pass Algebra 1 End of Course Exam (other EOCs count as 30% of final grade) You can try your student s success on the last page of the Freshmen Success Guide

  5. Attendance and Grades The best way to monitor student attendance and/or grades is by logging on to the PCS Portal/Focus system. This is also how you can contact your student s teachers should you have any specific questions regarding his/her grades or attendance. Weekly progress reports will be emailed. Please make sure your email is correct in Focus. Please contact your student s clerk if you need to update your email. Absences are to be reported to your student s clerk within 48 hours after absence. You can also use the Report an Absence feature on our website Any student who has 15 unexcused absences in a period of 90 calendar days will be subject to having their license or license suspended by the DMV. If your student is not feeling well, please keep them home and email or call your student s clerk.

Dress Code and Cell Phones Students at PPHS follow Pinellas County Schools Code of Conduct Dress Code Hats, sunglasses, bandanas, or hoods from hoodies should not be worn in the building Midriffs and shoulders must be covered at all times Shorts/skirts/dresses must be longer than fingertips at the students side No tears or rips in jeans where you can see skin
