  2. SAPSASA Hockey Current State 40 SAPSASA districts 20 teams each age group in 2015 21 In 2016 Hockey is the smallest of all SAPSASA carnival sports We need to grow to become more sustainable. Not just a Hockey SA or a SAPSASA responsibility. Need Clubs working in partnership with Hockey SA and SAPSASA. Hockey the game for everyone!

Hockey SA / SAPSASA MOU 3-year commitment Working collaboratively on: SAPSASA Hockey Knockout SAPSASA Hockey State Carnival 12 and under boys/girls state teams Hockey SA role: Promoting hockey in primary schools Assistance with coloured shirt program and sourcing umpires Assist with identifying/educating state school boy/girl coaches Provide a selector for state school boy/girl teams Hockey the game for everyone!

Supporting Umpire Development Coloured Shirt Program: ORS to bring branded CSP marquee Aim to have there all week as shade/shelter to umpires Hockey SA have purchased coloured shirts and will distribute free of charge to junior umpires Hockey SA Umpire Coach/es to be at the tournament all week to mentor young umpires Hockey SA to run a Community Umpiring Course during the week SAPSASA used for identifying talent and first step on umpiring pathway Hockey the game for everyone!

Draft strategy participation HSA schools outreach in combined districts to help them stand alone HSA schools outreach in new districts with keen hockey people to help establish new teams Clubs to support and help establish these new district teams We all need to work together.   8. Questions & Discussion Some things can change and others can t. June long weekend and SAPSASA too close together? Combined districts how to build up an assistant coach who can take on a team next year? Potential new districts who can take on a new team next year? What can Hockey SA do to support growth? What can clubs do to support growth? Hockey the game for everyone!
