  2. 1.- THE CURRENT SITUATION OF C.Ss.R. FORMATION

  3. Status of the Redemptorist Mission, Formation today: 64% in Parishes and Shrines (CRE 80%) With Restructuring, new Provinces, Federations, Confederations... More and more interprovincial, international formation... Few Units, on their own, can do the whole formation process. Need for greater collaboration among all Formed and stable formators - a major challenge Few vocations and formandi in many Units Studies in Universities, Diocesan Seminaries... Few Redemptorist academic centres.

  4. 2.- XXV GENERAL CHAPTER

  5. A brief HISTORY of the Ratio Formationis Generalis Before the year 1991 la Congregation had four Ratio: Brothers, Novitiate, Clerics and Continuing Formation. The General Chapter of 1991 mandated the elaboration of a single Ratio Formationis Generalis for the sake of greater continuity and cohesion to formation. The Ratio Formationis Generalis of 2003. In 2015 the Decree on Formation was published. The Ratio, actualized in 2020, was based on the 2003 Ratio and took two years until its final completion.

THE 25th GENERAL CHAPTER IN 2016 ASKED FOR A DETAILED AND COMPLETE ANALYSIS OF INITIAL FORMATION PROGRAMMES IN UNITS AND CONFERENCES (Dec. # 30) The General Secretariat for Formation, in its reflection on this decision, considered that any analysis of formation programmes would need a reference point, and logically, that reference is the Ratio Formationis Generalis, which needed to be updated. The 25th General Chapter did not ask for an updating of the Ratio.

The Conferences are doing their Ratio Formationis. New formation structures: more interprovincial, international, etc Some Conferences are proposing a completely new model of Ratio... The need for official and special languages for the mission.
