All about the trip. Abingdon park. Outside learning. Full day outside the classroom. Year 2, 60 children. Two coaches. 10 Adults.
Why we want to go? For children to experience outdoor cross- curricular learning. To broaden the children s learning in a different environment. To experience local history. To build on PHSE/teamwork. To explore the geographical location rather than pictures.
Lesson 1- Geography. Map reading Teamwork Using Ipad s Taking photographs Producing a detailed map
Lesson 2 - Art Look at Andy Goldsworthy s work. Collect natural materials from park. Gain an understanding of the natural environment, Complete work in the style of Andy Goldsworthy.
Lesson 3 - History Learn about Victorian Life. Comparison between life now and then. Discuss the features of a Victorian school. Experience first hand the life of a Victorian school child.
How the trip enhances the learning. Experiential learning Engaging the children in a different setting. Hands on experience. Developing new skills personal/social development Working with others
