Accessibility Improvement of
Existing Lift
This European Standard provides rules on
how to apply EN 81-70 to existing lifts to
improve their accessibility for persons
including persons with disability.
Accessible Only Goods Lifts
This European
Standard covers:
accessible
 goods only
lifts;
With rated speed not
exceeding 1m/s
With rated load
exceeding 300 kg; and
Not intended to move
persons.
Type A, where the
intended use is bound
to the following two
simultaneous
conditions:
Maximum rated speed:
0,30 m/s;
Maximum travelling
height: 12 m;
Type B, where one of
the conditions
mentioned above is
not fulfilled.
Automatic power operated doors shall not be
used.
Type A could be platform and not necessary
enclosed cabin
Inclined Lifts
Safety rules for the
construction and installation of
permanently installed new
electric lifts,
with traction or positive drive,
serving defined landings levels,
having a vehicle designed to
convey passengers or
passengers and loads,
suspended by ropes or chains
and travelling in a vertical plan
along guide rails that are
inclined at an angle of between
15° and 75° in relation to the
horizontal.
Inclination: a variation in
inclination is permitted
for the travel path;
travel path: confined
within the vertical plane;
Maximum capacity of
the car: 7500 kg (100
passengers);
maximum rated speed
(
