Tentative Agreements The term of the agreement: 4 Years July 1, 2017- June 30, 2021
Copies of changes 1. Small changes will be projected. 2. Big changes will be in copy form. 3. All new language is in RED
Tentative Agreements Article II: Rights of Professional Employees B. Required Meetings or Hearings: Any suspension of a professional employee pending charges shall be without pay, but in the event suspicion or charges are unfounded does not hold up, the employee shall be paid in full made whole for monetary compensation lost during the unpaid suspension.
Tentative Agreements Article VI: Employee Evaluation All employees shall be evaluated by supervisors or delegated 1. personnel authorized by the Northeastern Educational Intermediate Unit. and mutually accepted NEIU Professional Evaluation Instrument. The following criteria shall prevail: a. As required statute, the employer shall perform an evaluation. No surveillance devices shall be used, including telephone and inter- communication without the prior expressed written consent of the teacher. b. Each employee shall be given a copy of each written evaluation and a conference shall be held as soon as practicable.
Tentative Agreements Article VI: Employee Evaluation c. Evaluations left unsigned shall be considered signed 10 days after employee receipt. Employee signature does not signify agreement, simply that the employee has received the evaluation. d. Only the employee shall have the right to examine the contents of his or her personnel file. This provision shall not restrict the employer s right to utilize the employee s files.

Tentative Agreements Article X: Paid Leaves of Absence Section 3: Death: Up to three (3) days five (5) days at any one time may be granted in the event of death of a teacher s spouse, child, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, parent, grandparent, stepparents, stepchildren, father-in-law, mother-in-law, brother, sister, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, and any other member of the immediate household.

Tentative Agreements Article XVII: Salaries and Compensation Please see pages 3-4 of your packet. Section 1: Step movement each year including this school year. $750 for all teachers on the top step Section 5: Terminal leave pay will be placed in a 403 (b) account. (IRS requirement) Article XX: Social Workers: Also in packet page 4.
Tentative Agreements Article XXI: Attendance at Special Education Hearings Rate is $29.75 for the life of the agreement. Tentative Agreements Article XXIV: Tuition Reimbursement See Tuition Reimbursement in your packet. Article XXVIII: Furlough and Seniority 1. In the event that it becomes necessary to furlough teachers pursuant to Sections 1123, 1124, and 1125.1 of the Public Code of 1949, as amended, the employer agrees that such furloughing of teachers shall be effected on the basis of the two (2) most recent evaluations in the area of certification (for economic furloughs), NEIU seniority and certification of those teachers who are being considered for furlough. After NEIU-wide realignment has been considered for certification purposes, the teachers to be furloughed shall be terminated in the inverse order of their NEIU seniority. In the event that two or more teachers are credited with equal service, length of seniority will be decided on the basis of drawing of lots.
Article XXXVIII Retirement Incentive Page 29 The Retirement Incentive sunseted or ended on June 1, 2017. (This happened LAST contract) It may be offered outside the contract at the IU s discretion. There is no incentive in the 2017-2021 contract.
